Whois, therefore, the greatest person, the most fulfilled? The one who becomes more a part of Christ and co-operates with Him for the good of all the members.
A dear Sister who worked in the kitchen, cleaning vegetables, understood this well. She said happily: “The more leaves there are to clean, the more sinners I ask the Lord to convert”. And another, who was portress, said: “Even though I am tired, I always try to smile, because everyone who comes to the door is a member of Christ’s Body” – Mother Ersilia Canta
I think EACH individual is as fulfilled as they allow themselves to be. The above sisters are an example of how individually they found fulfillment in just the most simplest of tasks. Being religious sisters the leaves, or just smiling in greeting others was important in their love for Christ. The day we are born begins a journey of whether we travel the path our Creator would like us to be on or not. We not only live our lives for our self, but we live for others. I like to think of how the wind just seems to change so many things it touches. Our lives too go through so many changes. Yet, hopefully along the way we learn to constantly rediscover who we are and why we are created. Then, life takes on meaning and fulfillment.
