The above passage starts with: “Anyone.” Therefore, I think Christ wants “ALL” believers to know He promises that if they follow and profess faith, eternity will be the reward. By doing this all are united one to the other. Many people of all faiths have left everything, went into lands practically unknown and taught, preached, baptized and many gave their lives. Yet, I can’t help but think in a personal way that certain ‘individuals’ have a special calling. This calling is linked to Christ’s phrase, “Make disciples” and so with this, sisters, brothers and priests are clearly the chosen who are called. I also think the religious life is a life that many just don’t know much about. There is always hesitation when considering the ‘unknown.’ However, so much has changed that one need just to look at religious lives and all that is being accomplished. They truly have left ‘everything, and their love for God and others is top-of-the-line!
