There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home
So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world

“Our lives are like a candle in the wind.” (Carl Sandburg)
If you think about it, only a tiny spark can start a candle burning, and once burning it can grow or go out. The flame begins to warm up, and I see it as a connection with God’s love once you’ve experienced it. It doesn’t stay within, it spreads as stated above and soon as St. John says, ” Love one another, as I have loved you.” The light of the candle then never goes out! However, words are words and I like to think of Mother Teresa or Pope John Paul who while they had so much to say, their actions confirmed every world spoken or not.; To them and so many of our Christian brethern, the Lord came to then and they in turn
ASSED IT ON. No waters on this earth can ever quench the ‘flame’ of true love.
I love this song! Thank you for sharing!
i absolutely love this song! we all have a light within us – and we are definitely meant to share it!
We sang this song when I taught at Pope John Paul II School in Clifton. Brings back wonderful memories. Thanks.
