Let me tell you some good things I did not know about the Salesians at the time I entered:
1. We are the largest female religious community in the world.
2. Our Sisters serve in 94 countries throughout the world.
3. Mary was the one who inspired our Institute; Don Bosco had no desire to found a woman’s order.
4. Don Bosco saw Mary walking in the halls of a Salesian Sisters’ house
5. We have over 100 people on the way to becoming Saints – in just over 150 years (that’s young in Church life)
6. We are a growing community.
7. Many of our Sisters are missionaries
8. Some of the highest ranking officials in the Church are Salesians
9. Our community is one of Pontifical Rite, which means it is recognized by the Holy Father, and not only the local bishop.
10. Our community is entrusted with a Pontifical University (of the Science of Education) called the Auxilium, in Rome.
Really, I entered because I saw Sisters who were in love with Christ and on fire to bring His love to the young. I have always loved kids and thought a family would only afford me the possibility of having a few kids, if God gave me any, so this way, I could have hundreds – even thousands of kids and not be limited!

With all that has been said, one can tell the Salesians have truly been blessed. Presently, this blessing continues mainly through those that live this life and are deeply dedicated to the love of Chirst and their love for all those in need in the world.
I will always add my prayers for this dynamic group of Fathers, Brothers and Sisters.
LOVE the Salesian Sisters!!!
